Classic Summer Bruschetta

Making a classic authentic Italian Bruschetta is easy and only uses a few ingredients. Serve with crunchy toasted bread! If you are looking to be fancy drizzle a little balsamic vinegar on top. The combination of fresh summer tomatoes, basil, a little garlic, olive oil and salt and you have the perfect appetizer.

Ingredients

  • 2 lbs of tomatoes

  • 1/3 cup basil leaves, chopped

  • 1 large clove of garlic, chopped

  • 1 Tbsp extra virgin Olive oil

  • 1/4 tsp sea salt

Directions

  • Dice tomatoes. Drain any excess juice and transfer to a medium bowl.
  • Finely mince garlic and basil. Add to the bowl of tomatoes.
  • Season tomatoes with olive oil and salt.
  • Stir gently until everything is combined. Set aside for 15-30 minutes to marinate. Serve with crusty toasted bread and an extra drizzle of olive oil or balsamic vinegar.
