We met and instantly connected about our love of food.
Comfort food is Chef Emery’s love language. He revels in the warmth of a perfectly baked bread of the joy of a gooey oatmeal chocolate chip cookie. His comfort food isn’t ordinary. It’s comfort food with a twist – a pinch of creativity, a sprinkle of herbs, and a whole lot of heart.
Both Emery and Kimie grew up in Virginia, which has influenced both of their cooking styles. Southern comfort food is warming to the soul. Kimie is also half Korean, and loves Korean recipes and all Asian flavors.
This blog has been a labor of love. We originally started it back in 2013, but life got busy with work, school, and everyday life that it fell to the side. We’ve learned a few things since then, and found that we really missed it. So, we’re back and we hope you’ll join us on this food adventure.
